Who can make a Career?

No Matter which areas of the industry you choose to work in upon the completion of your course, you will need to have a pleasant personality, be confident in dealing with people, and possess dedication, flexibility, flair and creativity. You will also need to be a lateral and progressive thinker and show an acceptance of various cultural and ethnic groups within the hospitality industry and the society at large. You will need to shoulder social responsibility towards individuals, social groups in general and to the needs of the others within the industry. You should have the ability to undertake a diverse range of tasks in an appreciative and technically competent manner.

Discipline

Perhaps you may feel this trait is more the requirement of the armed forces than an industry that is so married to glamour. It is for this very purpose that we need to be disciplined. On days of celebrations, this industry works and the bigger the feast, the harder we work. Make no mistakes about this : you do not participate in the festivities, you make the festival.

Strength and Stamina

Huge demands are made on our strength both physical and emotional. All branches of this field require you to be strong. The kitchen in all probabilities demands the highest amount of physical strength. We have to give our best and then some more. And most importantly, we have to be consistent. Long working hours are not the exception but more the rule. This is where your stamina will be tested.
